We’re Gene and Katie Hamilton, a writing and photographer team who specialize in travel writing. We’ve been visiting the towns surrounding the shores of Chesapeake Bay since the 1970s when we first arrived on a sailboat coming from Chicago. It wasn’t long before we moved to Maryland’s Eastern shore and have been here ever since to explore the iconic harbor towns and cities by boat, car and motor home.
Our early careers as home improvement writers and photographers led to 14 books on our list of titles and a weekly syndicated column Do It Yourself or Not. Our evolution from how-to writing to go-to writing led to boating and travel stories.
Over the years we’ve been honored as award winning writers and authors for our books and magazine articles by Boating Writers International and the Assn. of Real Estate Writers.
